January 2026: Industry Update with Doug Cofiell

by Stephanie S.
Ivystone Marketing Manager

Doug Cofiell, CEO of Ivystone, shares an update from a busy Atlanta showroom, where 2026 is already off to a strong start. After a challenging year for many retailers, the momentum we’re seeing feels both encouraging and optimistic.

Better-Than-Expected Holiday Results
Many retailers were pleasantly surprised by the strength of the fourth quarter. December—particularly the final weeks leading into the holidays—delivered solid retail performance across the country, helping to close the year on a positive note.

Optimism for the Year Ahead
Building on that strong finish, retailers are entering 2026 with renewed confidence. Pricing has become more stable, vendors are well-positioned with inventory, and shipments are moving smoothly—supporting a strong start to the year.

A Quick Pricing Reminder
As you plan assortments, it’s important to review pricing carefully. While most tariff surcharges have already been incorporated, new retail price points may appear. Be sure to watch for any additional charges or assortment changes as you place orders.

Important Summer Market Date Changes
One final reminder: summer market dates are shifting due to the FIFA World Cup being hosted in North America. Notably, the Atlanta market is moving up to June 9. With many host cities expected to be especially busy, now is the time to secure travel plans, hotels, and showroom appointments.
